One of the things that make Bormio unique is its culinary tradition. Thanks to what Mother Nature offers us every day, here at Sottovento we offer a space dedicated to local sweets, open to all.
Sottovento Dolce Bar Pasticceria is a small, cosy cafe with a typical Alpine ambience. It is located in the hotel and welcomes visitors with enticing aromas, perfect for a snack at any time of the day, and is open to all, even non guests, so everyone can enjoy moments of good taste.
It is the ideal place for breakfast indoors during the coldest months of the year. The large selection of fresh croissants, pastries and cakes, accompanied by a warming cappuccino or hot chocolate, are a delicious, energy packed way to start the day. The café uses the best bakery in the area for fresh, high quality goods with almost zero food miles. It offers a refined, elegant atmosphere, which is also relaxed and informal. Ideal for a moment with the family or a group of friends who want to chat over a cocktail or drink.
The afternoon is dedicated to snacks for adults and children, ideal for a coffee or something more, and later on an aperitif to start the evening. During the summer it is possible to use the garden to enjoy some nibbles outdoors. But there's more, in summer you can enjoy one of our live music evenings!
We arrived here after a hair raising ride over the Passo di Gavia, and were greeted warmly by the front desk receptionist who took us to our beautiful room. These rooms are lovely, with a small dining area, and couch...we discovered a small kitchenette in the room which would have been great if we were staying longer. The breakfast was good, and we ate a small lunch in the cafe on site which serves some of the best hot chocolate I've ever had. Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful luxury suites, tastefully appointed with all you'll need. Big walk in shower, luxury bed linen, balcony from the bedroom with views to the mountains. Hotel has it's own patisserie and coffee shop and is a very short walk from good restaurants and gelato. Best of all it is 15 mins from the start of the Stelvio Pass which means you can drive it more than once with an overnight stay here. Highly recommended as each suite comes with secure underground parking and the hotel staff couldn't be more helpful.

Beautiful hotel and spa. Very central location so the hotel doesn't have a huge garden and is very close to other buildings but it's not noisy or loud. Staff were brilliant and very helpful with our toddler. I would definitely recommend and hope to be back there myself soon.
